There’s nothing quite like the smell of fresh gingerbread wafting through your home to mark the beginning of the festive season. Our Gingerbread Biscuits baking kit contains all the essentials you’ll need to bake and decorate a large batch of these classic Christmas biscuits.
This kit is designed for bakers who want to pipe detailed designs using traditional royal icing. We’ve included two stainless steel Christmas themed cookie cutters*, ingredients for a medium batch of icing, a stainless steel #3 piping tip, a disposable piping bag (biodegradable) and gold and silver cachous for that touch of elegance. The recipe, cookie cutters and piping tip can be reused for years to come.

INCLUDED IN THIS KIT: Wheat flour, icing sugar, golden syrup, brown sugar, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, ground cinnamon, bicarbonate soda, 2 x stainless steel cookie cutters, 1 x disposable piping bag (biodegradable), 1 x stainless steel piping tip (#3), gold and silver cachous.
YOU WILL ALSO NEED: Unsalted butter, egg, lemon.
RECIPE TIME: Prep 35 mins, bake 10 mins per batch, plus decorating time.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: Stand mixer with paddle attachment recommended, rolling pin, baking trays.
METHOD: This recipe is a three step process. First you will make the gingerbread dough, then you will roll, cut and bake the biscuits, then you'll decorate them with royal icing. We recommend using a stand mixer to make the dough, which will also require light kneading. Our royal icing is based on a simple, traditional method and does not require a mixer.
You can be as creative as you wish with this kit. We have included everything you need for piping different designs, however you can simply use a knife to spread the icing on the biscuits, use different food colourings or finish with sprinkles of your choice.
